A gathering in Crow Village, mid-summer 2003, for the goal of moving the "little house." Includes subsistence drifting, Raven's first communion, and the final relocation of the guest house.
A good size gathering took place in Crow Village in mid-summer of 2003, ostensibly for the goal of moving the "little house". The little house was the origina l structure used for living at the re-establishment of permanent residence at Crow Village, but once the "big house" was habitable, it was vacated. Plans were hatched to relocate the structure to the other side of the village to utilize it as a guest house.
Guests arrived from far and wide, including Thea Feyereisen, Maureen Wegleitner, Tom Wegleitner (Weg), Tom Feyereisen, and Matt Scaer. The first order of business was subsistence drifting, which yielded reds, kings, and chums. On Sunday, the stage was set for Raven's first communion, performed by Father Jerry and Father Maichi, followed by an impressive feast.
The move itself began on Monday. Despite rain, the house was moved about 20 feet using a chainsaw winch. By Tuesday, with Lisa operating the winch and the guests providing muscle, the final stretch was completed. The week concluded with a July 4th party and the "Cool Tricks" contest, where Storm Phillips took first place for wiggling his eyebrows while making noise on a wine glass.
